Just seen the news that Blackpool have been deducted 10 points for a salary cap breach

I don't know the details of what, how much, when etc

but does seem that the RFL have no problem making an example of the smaller clubs but frightened of upsetting the big ones.

Talking of the salary cap i would like to know how certian clubs can bring top overseas players in plus have international players
on the bench and still be under the cap ?

We seem to be way behind the rest of the teams at the moment salford are attracting top class players Wigan Leeds Saints Warrington
have top class players

If we are not attacting these types of players to the club we need to be to turn the club round it is the first time that i know of that we have
no NZ players in the squad

Board are we that badly behind because of money restraints from what as gone in the past we know the gates are down because of the performance on the field but we need as a club to turn this round

The problem with that comparrison Bartsbull, is that other teams are spending up to their salary cap and we've openly said we are not.

No idea on the Blackpool issue, but I'm sure some in the Castleford area are looking on with gritted teeth. Stanleybulls point about the big clubs not being dealt with the same is probably being raised there as we speak. Wigan plain ignored the cap in order to stay up in '06 at their expense. A huge deduction would have seen them relegated in '07, but they got only a slight deduction and remained in the playoffs as a result.

Not related to salary cap but again double standards

Hull field an ineligable playerin the challenge cup, get a fine (most of which was suspended) and the rest is more than covered and then some int he money made getting to the final

Halifax field one this year - and get kicked out of the competition!!

ahh yeah stanley but the hull player was a late reg, the fax player had played already for another club and was cup-tied surely a different level of offence?

I'm not sure thats the case Phatmarkie.

Thackery was not eligible for 2 games, and when the RFL spotted it they had no punishment in place, so put the fine in as a panic. The Fax player was the victim of the rules being tightened as a result.
